Susan C. Annear
September 28, 1951 - August 31, 2025
Susan C. Annear, 73, of Camanche formerly of Seattle, Washington passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
Her urn will be privately buried at Rose Hill Cemetery. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting Susan's family and online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary www.snellzornig.com.
Susan Carol Annear was born September 28, 1951 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Richard "Slip" and Loleta (Farley) Annear. She was a 1970 graduate of Clinton High School and then earned her Associates Degree from Scott County Community College. She worked at International Paper for 6 years and then in 1978 she chose to attend Bible College at Community Chapel and Bible Training Center in Seattle, Washington. After she graduated she went to work at the Bible College as an accountant until 1988. After her time working there she worked as an accountant for Ben's Cleaner Sales in Seattle until she retired in 2018.
Sue was united in marriage with her wife Holle Bentley in 2014 after they had been together for 17 years. She had a lust for life and adventure and when she moved back to Iowa she lived in the moment and took in many sights that she didn't appreciate in her younger years. She enjoyed trips all over the midwest to find caves, trails to hike and covered bridges or just her daily drive through Camanche. She loved spending time with her flowers, her garden and canning just about anything. Sue will be remembered for driving her jeep, drinking a good cup of coffee and always listening to the rock band Heart. When you hear one of their songs or have a great cup of coffee, remember Sue.
She is survived by her wife Holle Bentley of Camanche and siblings: Dan (Chuck) Annear of Seattle, Washington, Jeff Annear of Camanche, Judy (Rich) Griebel of Camanche and Tammy (John) Millsap of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister Debbie Annear.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
