JOHN "JACK" MRAVINEC

July 5, 1951 - August 10, 2025

JOHN JACK MRAVINEC

MRAVINEC
JOHN "JACK"

Age 74, of Gibsonia, formerly of Shaler, passed unexpectedly on August 10, 2025. Devoted husband to the late Christine (Zalewski); proud loving father to his two daughters that meant the world to him, Kristin of Richmond, VA and Jacki (Nick High) of Wexford. Beloved brother to Sue O'Toole; uncle to Patrick and Karen (Lehigh); and loving great-uncle to his great-nieces and nephews. Born July 5, 1951 to John and Ruth Mravinec, raised in Lawrenceville "before it was trendy," a graduate of Peabody High School. Many family vacation summers were spent "at the lake" (Canadohta), always the week of his birthday complete with sparklers in his cake. Jack was always ready to talk about Pittsburgh or how to get around the belt system. He knew multiple routes to get around town at any given time, which helped him as he navigated the city as a transportation driver for NAMS and Greentree Doubletree. Jack enjoyed meeting the people he picked up along the way, always ready to talk to anyone that he came in contact with. He enjoyed a brief stint as a bartender, lending an ear and a drink to those at the bar, after leaving Veolia Water (formerly Chester Engineers) in their IT department. Those that were fortunate to know him would instantly smile when he entered a room, his energy and laugh intoxicating to all around. Blissfully reunited with his love, Chris and his faithful yellow lab, Jake.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Tree Planting Timeline

Orders placed in:

January - May

Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.

June - December

Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
