GERALDINE
Geraldine Wilson, 89, of Pittsburgh, PA, entered eternal rest on August 17, 2025. Born in Clarksville, PA, she was the daughter of the late John (Hill) Green and Beulah (Penn) Woody-Green.
She married Melvin Wilson, Sr. on August 22,1953, and together, they shared over four decades of marriage and ministry until his passing. Geraldine faithfully supported her husband in his pastoral calling while also serving in multiple roles at St. John Bible Center since 1976. She was First Lady, choir member, Sunday School Coordinator, kitchen committee member, and later served as an Associate Pastor.
Professionally, she worked as a Nurse's Aide at Washington Hospital and later at Mayview State Hospital for 21 years, retiring in 1991. She was respected for her compassion, diligence, and professionalism.
Her faith in Christ was central to her life. She was known for reciting Psalm 100 and living by its truth: serving the Lord with gladness, treating people with love, and praying consistently for her family.
She is survived by her children, Melvin Wilson, Jr. (Pamela) of Youngstown, OH, Calvin L. Wilson of Uniontown, PA, Damon A. Wilson of Canonsburg, PA, and Zanetta L. Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
