ELIZABETH E.
Age 92, of Spring Hill, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Eyerman; beloved wife of 69-plus years to the late Thomas M. Joos, Sr.; loving mother of 5 children, Thomas, Jr. (Karen), Gregory (Tricia), Mary Beth (Sharon), Jack (Linda), Kathryn Joos Tomkowski (Thomas); Proud grandma of 11, Thomas III (Shawna), Benjamin (Meredith), John, Jr. (Emily), Jarrod (Rayanda), Jacob, Sarah (Michael), Rebecca Joos, Lucy, Abby, Gaberiel Tomkowski and the late Jennifer Davis (survived by Jesse); Cherished Great-Grandma of five, Delaney, Giuliana, Olivia, Clara, and Alee Joos; sister of the late Jean Brown, Dolores Burnett, Kathleen Gahagan, Charles Eyerman, Jr., and Mary Carmody; She is also survived by many loving relatives and friends, including ten Godchildren.
Elizabeth (Betty) not only dedicated herself to her family but she was a lifelong Registered Nurse and maintained her RN license for an incredible 71 years, including 2025. She contributed her time and concern as the neighborhood nurse for cuts, bruises, sprains, etc., and for her family. Betty not only served her community but also raised her children and would help take care of her grandchildren. A devoted Catholic, Elizabeth found comfort in her faith, especially during frequent prayerful visits with Father Daniel Straughn. She often prayed for others and loved the Rosary and Holy Mass. She had been an active member of the Christian Mothers' Organization and at St. Ambrose Parish. She was also known for her beautiful singing voice, bringing joy to many.
Even in her later years, Elizabeth was eager to learn and picked up the game of bridge at the age of 90. Her true love was for her family, who she cherished dearly. She was someone whom was loved by everyone she met and could talk to anyone, about anything, at any time.
Thank you to the special, caring staff and caregivers at Ridgecrest Senior Living of McCandless that gave Mom care throughout the past few years.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
Orders placed in:
